TERMS AND CONDITIONS Please read the terms and conditions carefully as they incorporate the basis upon which the reservations are accepted by Criterion Hotel Perth. By making a reservation with Criterion Hotel Perth, it is understood that all terms and conditions outlined hereunder are accepted. Tan & Chong Management Pty Ltd, ABN 52 169 505 033, trading as Criterion Hotel Perth; reserves the right to change and/or modify any/whole part of the outlined terms and conditions at any time without any notice. The terms and conditions are effective immediately as published. Please refer to the terms and condition on a regular basis as they may change/update periodically.
GLOSSARY OF TERMS: Time: All times mentioned are in local Perth time (Australian Western Standard Time). Currency: All amounts mentioned are in Australian Dollars (AUD).
ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE Check-in/arrival is from 14:00 (2:00PM) We allow guest to arrive earlier and store luggage until the room is ready for check-in. Check-out/departure is prior to 11:00 (11:00AM) The hotel reserves the right to refuse any request for early check-in or late check-out without any explanation. No Late Check Out available on Weekends and Public Holidays.
EXTENSION OF STAY All extension of stay must be confirmed and paid ahead of time to secure continuation of the stay in the same room. If a guest fails to confirm extension, guest may be asked to leave the room and wait until new room is ready depending on room availability.
PAYMENT Payment for entire stay plus any incidentals is required at check-in/arrival. For high demand periods and special events, different payment policies that require pre-payment may apply. The payment policy will be confirmed at time of reservation. If the payment policy is not adhered, the reservation may be cancelled. Criterion Hotel Perth accepts electronic funds transfer at point of sale (EFTPOS), Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, JCB and Cash. All amounts are charged in AUD (Australian Dollars). Any credit card being used for payment (including incidentals) must be presented by the card holder upon check-in/arrival.
BONDS/CREDIT CARD PRE-AUTHORISATION For all reservations a security deposit/bond of AUD$250.00 is required upon arrival prior to check-in, to covers any incidentals and/or room damages that may incur to the room/s during the room occupancy. A full inspection of all rooms will be conducted by hotel management after each guest departs to determine if there is any damage/s in the room. A room requiring excessive cleaning may also be charged from the security deposit/bond at the management discretion. All credit card pre-authorisations usually take 7-10 working days to be released (except otherwise stated by your bank) once the guest check-out and all outstanding payments paid in full. The guest will be held liable for any damages/charges to not only the room but also any part of the hotel premises which is a direct and indirect result of person/s invited by the guest to the room and/or hotel.
PHOTO IDENTIFICATION Valid photo identification (ID) matching the name of the main guest and the credit card holder with in the reservation must be presented at the time of the check-in/arrival. This is required in order to verify guest’s identity for the hotel security purposes. A valid Australian driver’s license, Australian issued proof of age card, Australian photo card, or an international passport are all acceptable forms of photo identification. As per our privacy policy, any personal information contained on the collected identification will not be on-sold; will be securely stored and carefully disposed of at the end of its usefulness.
HOW TO BOOK (FIT 1-4 Rooms) Reservation can be made online at Criterion Hotel Perth website or by calling Criterion Hotel Perth. Please note, payment of one night must be made in order to secure the booking. In the event of non-payment booking may be cancelled and room rate may not be guaranteed.
CANCELLATIONS (FIT 1-4 Rooms) The hotel standard cancellation policy requires reservation cancellations or changes to be advised to the hotel by 2:00PM (14:00) AWST, three (3) days prior to check-in. Failure to advise the cancellation/changes will result in one (1) night charge. If the guest does not arrive by 11:00PM (23:00) on the expected arrival date without formal notification to the hotel, the booking will be released and the first night accommodation will be considered as “No Show” with no refund. If booking is made within less than 3 days of check-in date, cancellation penalty still applies if a cancellation is made.
GROUP RESERVATIONS A minimum of five (5) reserved on one night is considered a group reservation. Any group reservation made via any form of online distribution (such as our website or a third part website) may be cancelled and a group proposal will be supplied. Different terms and conditions apply for group reservations as stated in the group accommodation proposal and/or agreement (if applicable). This policy also applies to travel agent and only distributors via their system.
To GuaranteeGroup Booking To secure group booking of rooms, please arrange for full payment, in cash, EFT, money order or a credit card at least 1 month prior to arrivals.
Credit card authorisation will need to be filled and signed; and card holders’ details will be requested for verification
Group cancellations 1. Advance notice is required for at least 1 month prior to arrivals. 2. For cancellation less than 1 month or in case of no show, 50% cancellation charge for the whole stay apply (guest stay more than 1 night) 3. For cancellation less than 1 month or in case of no show, no refund will be given (guest stay 1 night only)
CAR PARKING The hotel does not offer car parking with any bookings either made for accommodation or for meals at the cafe. The hotel is not liable for any damages, costs incurred and fines due to the result of parking at a public car park or on the street. The cost of parking at any place is to be borne by the guests, and will not be reimbursed or compensated under any circumstance by the hotel. The closest multi-storey public car park(Wilson Parking) is available at the junction between Hay Street and Pier Street. INTERNET Free-Complimentary internet is available through wi-fi access throughout all rooms and in the reception area. Criterion Hotel Perth is not liable for the speed of the internet. Please note: Criterion Hotel Perth will not be responsible and/or provide compensation for any loss/damage of any kind in the event of low speed or non-availability of internet.
CHILD POLICY Children under the age of 12 years may stay at no additional charge if there is no additional bedding or change of bedding configuration required. The maximum room capacity still applies.
UNACCOMPANIED MINORS A child who is staying without the accompaniment of a parent, legal guardian or an adult over the age of eighteen (18) years of age is considered as an unaccompanied minor. An unaccompanied minor/s will not be permitted to stay at Criterion Hotel Perth without an adult company
HOUSE RULES (Guest Responsibilities) For the comfort of all our guests, we ask that noise is kept to a minimum so everyone can enjoy a peaceful and comfortable stay. We request that any non-registered visitors leave all room by 9:00pm (21:00) each evening. Please also extend this courtesy to our neighbours when entering and exiting the building. Please note that guest is responsible for any/all visitor s to the Criterion Hotel Perth and will be held liable for any misconduct of the visitor. Hotel may ask the guest to vacate the room in the event of an incident caused by visitor and/or guest. The hotel expects all patrons to adhere to common courtesy to hotel staff and other guests. Any guest found to be disturbing in any way will be asked to vacate premises, without any refund provided. All guests are responsible for their belongs during their stay and Criterion Hotel Perth and its staff are not responsible and/or can be held liable for any loss, damage or theft any belongings of hotel guests or anyone visiting the guest.
SMOKING POLICY Criterion Hotel Perth is a non-smoking premises in all of its areas, including and not limited to rooms, lobby area, side laneways, emergency exits and front entrance of the premises. Fines will apply to guests who do not adhere to this policy. In the event of false fire alarm, all fees resulting from and not limited to; penalty, fines, and fees to any authority must be borne by the guest. Guest is also responsible for any fees resulting directly or indirectly of the action of their visitor.
EVICTION OF GUEST Criterion Hotel Perth may evict guest or visitors from premises without providing explanation and/or warning. Guests who are evicted from the hotel will be blacklisted from future stay at the Criterion Hotel Perth. The hotel may also notify persons of interests and the incident to the police department. A guest is subject to eviction should the following (but not limited to) occur;
Intoxication and unsavoury behaviour
Overcrowding – when the number of persons in the room exceeds the allowable capacity (see maximum capacity per room table)
Physical or verbal assault towards hotel staff, guests and visitors
Wilful damage to any part of the Criterion Hotel Perth’s property and/or premises
Any incident for which the police is required to be called on to the premises.
Any behaviour posing a safety concern or threat to others
Ignoring advice to reduce excessive noise (music or other disturbing noise)
Throwing of objects over the room’s windows and/or balcony
Smoking within the suite (cleaning fee will also apply)
FAILURE TO PAY In the event that a guest fails to pay outstanding full amount upon arrival at Criterion Hotel Perth, pursuant to the reservation and accommodation (including but not limited to telephone charges, room damage and clean fees), Criterion Hotel Perth reserves the right to deny access to the room and ask the guest to vacate the premises.
RIGHT OF ENTRY In the event that the Criterion Hotel Perth has a legitimate cause for concern or if the guest has not been seen nor been able to be contacted over a period of time, the room may be entered by a hotel representative to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests is in order.
RIGHT TO REFUSE ENTRY Criterion Hotel Perth Reserves the right to it’s premises to refuse a guest entry to the hotel or accommodation for any reason whatsoever including where the guest has engaged in conduct on a previous adverse to the hotel.
BEDDING REQUESTS, ROOM TYPES AND ALLOCATION All bedding configurations request that does not match initial reservation cannot be guaranteed. If different bedding configuration is required, a request must be made at the time of reservation and with 24-hours notice is required. Rooms reserved in each reservation are guaranteed, specific room numbers (within the type reserved) and floor allocations are subject to availability upon check-in/arrival and cannot be pre-allocated or guaranteed. Higher and/or upgraded room types need to be reserved and paid at the time of reservation to be guaranteed. If for any reason the room type reserved is no longer available at the time of check-in/arrival, Criterion Hotel Perth will provide a substituted room of equal or greater value and standard at the same rate confirmed. In the rare event where hotel is unable to accommodate a pre-paid booking, Criterion Hotel Perth will offer a full refund, and /or alternately offer a place at a nearby hotel of similar standard (including transportation). Please note: guest will still be responsible to place their own security deposit/bond based on the alternate hotel requirement.
PET POLICY Criterion Hotel does not permit pets at any locations within hotel compound. An animal is considered a breach of your accommodation conditions and you will be asked to leave or remove the animal. Guide dogs are permitted and must have a medallion on their collar with the registration number and the owner must also carry a laminated pass (with the owner and dog’s name). Guide Dogs are required to be harnessed in public areas. Please advise ahead of time if you will be travelling with a Guide Dog.
EMERGENCY SERVICE FEE Any Emergency Service Callout Fee as a direct or indirect result of guest’s stay will be charged to guest for false alarm. This includes any and all circumstances relating to smoking and cooking inside the room and where the alarm is triggered.
FORCE MAJEURE Guests and hotel representatives of Criterion Hotel Perth are allowed partial impossibility in an agreement, where the performance of the agreement by either party is subject to acts of God, war, terrorism, government regulations, natural disasters, strikes, civil disorder, banking procedures, and/or curtailment of any kind of travelling beyond the control of the parties making it inadvisable, illegal, or impossible to fulfil some or all of the agreement. Any agreements, contracts, quotes and reservations may be terminated without penalty for any one or more of such reasons by written notice from one party to another.
LIMIT OF LIABILITY We do our best to ensure reservation arrangements are satisfactory, however Criterion Hotel Perth does not accept any liability whatsoever for any injury damage, loss, delay additional expenses or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by any events which are beyond our control including, but not limited to, war, civil disturbance, terrorism, fire, floods, acts of god, acts of Government or of any other authorities, accident to or failure of machinery or equipment, maintenance requirements or industrial action.
MAXIMUM LENGTH OF STAY A maximum length of stay may apply during high demand or special event periods, as determined by Criterion Hotel Perth. If a room is reserved during such period (as per the reservation terms and conditions) you agree to stay not more than twenty eight (28) nights. Any changes or cancellations (within cancellation period) are subject to a penalty and may result forfeiting of any pre-payments and/or deposits.
PHOTOGRAPHS AND DESCRIPTIONS Whilst care is taken to ensure that the photos and description of our facilities and services is accurate, these are continually being changed, upgraded and on occasion, removed from services offered. If any feature or facility is essential to you in choosing a particular property, we highly recommend speaking to one of our reservation specialists, whom will assist your decision making process and if that feature or facility will be available during your stay. Descriptions are based on the information available at the time of publishing and may vary or change at any time. Maps and location photographs are shown for general information only and highlight places in surrounding areas. Actual rooms occupied may vary in décor and inclusion from those shown in photographs.
RATES All rates are quoted in AUD (Australian Dollars) and are per room per night basis, including 10% (GST) goods and service tax. Rates within reservations have valid confirmation by Criterion Hotel Perth will be honored. Rates that have been quoted are not confirmed until payment and a valid confirmation email has been received from Criterion Hotel Perth and therefore subject to change. Criterion Hotel Perth reserves the right to amend rates that have been confirmed at incorrect rates due to human or distribution errors.
SECURITY AND LOSS PREVENTION Criterion Hotel Perth is a secure environment and we do everything possible to ensure security of the premises is maintained, and we ask guests do also. However, Criterion Hotel Perth takes no responsibility for any personal bodily injury.
SILENT BOOKINGS Silent bookings, also referred to as “incognito bookings”, are not accepted. Valid photo identification is required upon arrival and our hotel system must be able to reference correctly all guests within our hotels. Guest information is kept secure for post stay auditing purposes and may be provided upon legal demand from the authorities. Criterion Hotel Perth will not allow under any circumstances to make a booking or stay with us under a different name. Criterion Hotel Perth will not entertain any requests for any details given by guest at the time making a booking to be erased from our system.
ROOM/PREMISES DAMAGE The guest who registers at check-in/arrival will be held responsible and/or accountable for any damages to the room, contents of the room and also any part of the Criterion Hotel Perth premises during the stay period. The guest will be liable for damages caused (including those of visitors to any part of the premises) which may also results in forfeiting any deposits, pre-payments and also may be subject to additional charges depending on the nature and cost of the damage. Criterion Hotel Perth reserves the right to process any charges in addition to the accommodation to the presented credit card supplied at the time of check-in/arrival.
THIRD PARTY SELLING Criterion Hotel Perth does not permit resale to a third party or for trade purposes without prior consent and/or written agreement. Criterion Hotel Perth reserves the right to accept or reject any such reservations. This also applies to group reservations and negotiated corporate rates that are resold.
TRAVEL INSURANCE We highly recommend all our guests to have an appropriate level of travel insurance. Travel insurance can be arranged by many travel agents.
